“Like a good neighbor State Farm is there”
“You’re in good hands with Allstate”
“15 minutes could save you 15% or more on car insurance”- GEICO
In short, my car was involved in a minor incident of which an individual hit my car while I wasn’t in it. They came into the store to inform me- asked if they could pay me out of pocket because they didn’t have insurance. Skeptical at first, but knowing law enforcement have much more to resolve than a minor dent on my bumper. I agreed as they advised me to take a picture of their driver’s license, car tags, and gave me their telephone number. In combination, there were text message threads exchanged between us where the individual admitted fault and outlined us meeting up to receive estimates to fix the car.
Boom- a week later and the individual stopped contact and failed to proceed with payment to fix the damages. My first thought was to call my insurance- thankfully I had “uninsured motorist” insurance which protects you when an incident occurs with an individual without insurance- it also does not cause a negative mark with your insurance. Compelled to further research, I proceeded to the police department to find out the individual did indeed have insurance and we’re currently proceeding accordingly.
I’m sure you’re wondering what’s the point of all of this? Well it made me think about the time I invest in God. I mean I go to church and bible study periodically, I used to serve on occasions but I have definitely slowed down. I pray throughout the day but not with the intensity I’ve demonstrated in the past when I needed Him to “come through”. Stay with me I’m going somewhere =).
preservation or deliverance from harm, ruin, or loss.
Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore, love is the fulfillment of the law.
In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Personally, the 3 scriptures above ring louder than the well known insurance slogans in the introduction. However, I must admit that the last one is my ultimate favorite scripture and a great way to wrap this up.
As we continue to devote numerous dollars toward our premiums for our insurance policies on earth, let’s not forget the non-repayable price that has already been paid through Christ’s death! By remembering this, we can begin to place the attention back where it belongs. On Him. The most-highly established guarantor that has covered our loss, damage, illness, and death- now that’s one insurance policy worth having!!
Peace & Love,
